Senior AI Operations Specialist
- Hybrid
- Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
- Data Team
Job description
Join a fast-growing, listed company with a purpose! Fastned owns and operates a network of 400+ fast charging stations across Europe, allowing electric vehicle drivers to charge their car with 100% green energy in just 15 minutes! Our goal is a European network of 1000 fast charging stations in prime locations, where all electric vehicles can charge with renewable energy from the sun and wind. We have recently been voted best charging network in the UK, France and the Netherlands. At Fastned you’ll work in a modern environment: cloud-native data platforms, an experimentation culture, and company-wide adoption of GenAI tools are part of our daily way of working. You’ll enjoy a high degree of ownership, and help shape how we use AI to scale further!
Your role
As our Senior AI Operations Specialist, you are the architect of our automated future. You don’t just talk about AI—you turn the potential of GenAI into measurable business impact. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role where you will scout the market for cutting-edge tools, prototype solutions, and embed AI into the very DNA of our day-to-day workflows.
You’ll act as the "bridge" between the possible and the practical—leading our AI task force, driving adoption through workshops, and ensuring our AI roadmap delivers real-world results.
What you’ll do
AI Tooling & Market Intelligence
Continuously monitor the AI landscape (agents, copilots, workflow tools) to identify tech that drives real business value.
Run rapid Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) and pilots; provide clear recommendations based on risk, cost, and benefit.
Define and rollout organization-wide guidelines for the safe and effective use of GenAI.
Partner with IT and business leads to evaluate AI features within new and existing software subscriptions.
Implementation & Solution Delivery
Partner with departments (Sales, Legal, Finance, etc.) to turn operational pain points into practical AI solutions.
Design and deploy automations using no-code/low-code platforms (e.g., n8n, Make) and AI assistants.
Own the process from scoping and prototyping to rollout and stabilization.
Create reusable templates and playbooks so other teams can adopt proven solutions independently.
Technical Collaboration (Data & Engineering)
Act as the primary link between business stakeholders and the Data/Engineering teams for custom builds (RAG, bespoke models, complex APIs).
Define MVPs, clarify requirements, and align on timelines to ensure custom projects stay business-relevant and robust.
Enablement & Community Building
Design and deliver tailored AI training, hackathons, and demo sessions to inspire and educate the organization.
Maintain a central AI knowledge base with how-to guides, recorded demos, and FAQs.
Build and lead a community of "AI Champions" across teams and countries to drive local adoption.
Proactively identify skill gaps or blockers and propose solutions to improve company-wide AI maturity.
Job requirements
Who we’re looking for
5+ years of "Builder" experience, you come from an Ops, Solutions Engineering, or Tech Project Management background where you've shipped real products.
You’ve taken GenAI concepts from "cool demo" to "live workflow" with clear, documented business impact.
Experience with workflow automation tools like n8n, Make, Zapier, or Workato.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, actionable language for non‑technical stakeholders.
You know how to define an MVP and keep a cross-functional task force on track.
Nice-to-Haves
Basic (or advanced!) proficiency in a programming language (e.g. Python) for prototyping and integrations.
Prior experience in change management, enablement, or internal consulting roles.
Experience building and running communities of practice or champions networks.
Familiarity with data privacy, security and governance considerations for AI tools in a corporate context.
