Our Commitment to Fair Employment and Social Responsibility
At Fastned, we are dedicated to fostering a fair, inclusive, and supportive workplace for all employees. We conduct an annual Performance Management cycle, with the most recent cycle running from December 2024 to February 2025. Any changes to roles or salaries are implemented from January each year. As part of this process, we:
Ensure our employees receive a decent pay in line with the average of their marketand benchmarks
Conduct a thorough gender pay gap analysis to ensure equal remuneration for all genders, making conscious salary adjustments wherever disparities are identified.
We believe that a healthy work-life balance and open dialogue with our employees are essential to our success. For this reason, we,
Monitor working hours in accordance with local legislation, ensuring employees do not exceed their contracted hours and are compensated for overtime, typically through time off in lieu in consultation with their manager.
Actively encourage employees to take their full paid annual leave entitlements, including additional leave provided by Fastned beyond statutory minimums. Our managers and People team closely monitor holiday balances throughout the year.
Our commitment to fair pay, equal opportunities, and employee wellbeing within Fastned's own operations is at the heart of everything we do.
Works Council Representation
It is important to us that our workforce is adequately and fairly represented, not only where it is legally required, but because we value the open feedback of our entire team as our core principle. Our Works Council (WoCo) is an employee-elected group chosen to represtend the interest of all employees to the employer. The works council attempt to secure the economic and social interests in the company and their employees in particular. Additionally being a discussion partner of the Management Team, as well as conveying management decisions to employees and explaining why these decisions were supported by the Works Council. Therefore the central rights of the WoCo are:
The WoCo has the right to provide advise on any major Finance or Organisational decisions Fastned takes.
The WoCo has the right to provide consent on any major Social decisions Fastned takes.
In October 2025, we held our second Works Council elections for a three-year term, resulting in 11 representatives from across our main locations: Netherlands (5), UK (1), Spain (1), Belgium (1), Germany (1), Switzerland (1), and France (2). This ensures that our entire workforce is fairly represented and actively involved in shaping our company’s future.
Training & Development
We value our employee’s personal and professional development. That’s why, in 2024, we implemented a €3000 (or local currency equivalent) Personal Development budget. This budget is available for all employees after 6 months of employment, and is designed to support their personal growth. The programme has seen increasing success since implementation, with 35% of employees using at least some of their budget in 2024, rising to 53% in 2025. We look forward to further investing in our employee’s development.
Our Commitment to Human Rights
At Fastned, we are committed to respecting and upholding human rights in all aspects of our operations, in line with internationally accepted standards such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization’s core conventions.
We are dedicated to preventing and addressing any instances of human trafficking, forced labor, and child labor within our company and throughout our supply chain. We respect the rights of all individuals to freedom of association and collective bargaining, and we do not tolerate discrimination of any kind, including but not limited to discrimination based on race, gender, age, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.
Fastned is committed to fostering a safe, fair, and inclusive workplace where the dignity and rights of every person are respected. We expect the same commitment from our partners and suppliers, and we continuously work to ensure that our practices and policies reflect these values.
