Your role

As Program Manager Engineering Shops, you will play a key role in managing the engineering and supply chain program for retail in Fastned, rolling out across several of our markets. You will focus on developing and scaling both staffed and unstaffed shops, integrating sustainability and circular economy principles from the start.  

This will include managing the engineering of our different building typologies, working closely with our internal designers and contractors to ensure solutions are efficient, modular, and future-proof. 

Currently, we're implementing a mix of 3D modular construction using CLT, Gluelam, and Timber Frame as well as 2D prefab approaches, depending on the size of our shop, needs and logistics. The role bridges concept to delivery, making sure we build smart, low-impact, and scalable retail environments that match the pace and values of Fastned.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Own the Retail Engineering Program: Manage the engineering program for Fastned shops, ensuring that our building blueprints are scalable, circular, sustainable, and affordable.

  • Drive Collaborative Solution Development: Act as a pro-active stakeholder in the strategic development of shop solutions, working closely with the design and retail operations teams to deliver optimal results.

  • Engineering Coordination: Take an active role in coordinating and contributing with both internal and external engineering and design advisors, ensuring alignment and creating smart technical solutions.

  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Serve as the central point of contact to guarantee that our blueprints comply with relevant regulations in each market where Fastned operates.

  • Supplier Management: Streamline relationships with current and future suppliers, acting as the main point of contact to ensure consistent quality and execution across all builds.

Who we are looking for:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Building Technology, Mechanical engineering or a related field, with a strong interest in timber and modular construction;

  • At least 5 years of previous work experience as a technical manager or similar position;

  • Experience with Timber buildings and/or modular construction is a plus.

  • High level of initiative independency at work

  • Excellent organizational skills and a high level of initiative; 

  • Willingness to travel, expected once or twice  a month on average 

  • Fluent English, both spoken and written. Dutch, German or French are a plus
