Operational Risk Auditor

For our Amsterdam Office, we are looking for a highly driven Operational Risk Auditor to join our Risk & Audit team. The purpose of Fastned’s new internal audit function is to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the business operations of Fastned. The Risk & Audit team has a company-wide risk and audit coverage.

As part of the audit team, you will play a key role in continuously growing and improving the new internal audit function. You will also be responsible for performing internal audits, including administration and work programs in line with the audit standards (identify the risks in the context of the organisation, perform data analysis, prepare audit reports, follow up on audit findings). Your recommendations and advice will support the business to enhance operational performance. As the internal audit function is just initiated and Fastned is growing rapidly in multiple countries, this is a great opportunity for an ambitious, entrepreneurial operational auditor.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare operational audits, conduct fieldwork, perform interviews, collect and analyse data, and test controls in place. Draft audit reports with findings, recommendations and collect management responses

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process improvements and control enhancements

• Identify areas of inefficiency, risk, and non-compliance within the organisation, and provide advice to management for improvement

• Stimulate, monitor and report on the progress of open audit findings

• Support the external accountant and auditors by following up on information requests 

• Comply with the IIA Code of Ethics, stay up to date on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, internal audit standards and fulfil CPE requirements 

• Contribute to the improvement of internal audit methodologies and tools
  

Who are we looking for?

• Has  2 - 4 years of experience in operational auditing

• A bachelor's degree in Business economics or equivalent

• Strong understanding of auditing principles, methodology and standards

• Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills in English. Fluency in Dutch is a plus

• Capable of conducting audits (build work program, perform the audit, write the audit report)

• Experience or skills in IT audit are a plus, as Fastned relies heavily on technology for its charging stations and data analysis

• Ability to work independently and part of a team

• Attention to detail, a strong analytical and curious mindset

• A pro-active, pragmatic and result-driven attitude

• Is willing to obtain a CIA or equivalent certification
