Fastned is on a mission to accelerate the transition to electric mobility. Since 2012, we have been building and operating a rapidly growing network of iconic fast-charging stations across Europe powered entirely by solar and wind energy. We now operate over 400 stations across nine countries, with an ambitious goal of reaching 1,000 stations by 2030. We are not building infrastructure for its own sake. Every station we open is a tangible step in the transition away from fossil fuels.

We are a B-corp, listed company on Euronext Amsterdam, with a community of over 10,000 retail investors and a growing base of institutional funding partners. In 2025, we reported €122.4 million in charging revenue: a 47% year-on-year increase, exceeding €100 million in annual revenue for the first time. Fastned is at a pivotal point: growing fast, approaching profitability, and expanding across Europe. As our CFO, you will lead a talented and growing team of 40+ finance professionals to drive and shape Fastned's continued success.

Your role

We are looking for a CFO to join the Management Board, alongside our CEO and COO, who will drive Fastned on its path to profitability.

After 6,5 years Fastned's previous CFO, Victor van Dijk, has transitioned into a new VP Strategy Role focusing on Fastned's long-term strategic vision. This transition creates the unique opportunity for a new CFO to join the mission and help shape the company’s next stage of growth.

This role is for a financial leader who thrives in scale-up environments and feels comfortable navigating complexity. You know how to build a finance function that is both structured and able to move fast, maintaining strong financial discipline while enabling the continued investment needed to expand the network that supports our long-term vision.

In this role, you will oversee the full Finance domain, including Business & Finance Control, Accounting & Reporting, Funding & Investor Relations, Treasury, Sustainability, Tax, and Risk & Audit, developing people and teams to the next phase. In addition, you will act as a key financial voice within the Executive Team and Management Board.

Your responsibilities will include:

Strategic Planning & Advisory: Partner with the Executive Board to set long-term financial goals, evaluate investment opportunities, oversee mergers and acquisitions and direct your teams to deliver the analyses and frameworks that underpin these decisions.

Manage our capital structure by optimising the company's capital, debt, and equity structure to maximise shareholder value.

Leading the Finance Domain: lead and inspire a talented Finance team of 43 professionals, bringing clear direction, fostering growth in culture that balances a bold mission with financial rigour. You will empower domain leads to do their best work, for each of your domains this entails the following:

• Accounting & Reporting team: accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, ensuring full compliance with applicable regulatory standards and accounting frameworks.

• Funding & Investor Relations team: develop a compelling, forward-looking equity story that reflects both current performance and long-term potential. You will serve as the primary spokesperson for Fastned's financial health, leading earnings calls and maintaining strong relationships with analysts, shareholders, and investors.

• Business & Financial Control team: partner with Country- and Functional Directors to evaluate the business cases for new markets, charging stations, joint ventures, and other expansion initiatives, ensuring rigorous financial discipline and cost efficiency underpin every growth decision.

• Risk & Audit team: build structures that protect against financial fraud and operational risk. Represent the Management Board in Audit Committee meetings and actively drive the embedment and maintenance of internal controls as an integral part of all organisational activities.

• Tax team: meet tax compliance and the maintenance of a tax control framework across all countries, covering corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and VAT.

• Serve as the executive owner of Fastned's sustainability strategy, ensuring it is credible, auditable, and aligned with both regulatory requirements, the company's long-term mission and B Corp obligations.

• Management Board Member: Serve as a full member of the Management Board, carrying statutory responsibility for Fastned's financial governance, risk management, and sustainability reporting, and knowing when to accelerate growth and when to apply disciplined challenges.

Who we are looking for

• A financial leader (RA, CPA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leadership role in a listed scale-up or high-growth environment, preferably in infrastructure, energy, mobility, or another capital-intensive sector.

• A genuine people leader who inspires, challenges, and grows the people around them.

• Demonstrated ability to drive a business towards profitability: owning the P&L, managing cash flow, and building the financial discipline needed to scale sustainably.

• Hands-on experience with FP&A, financial control, risk management and compliance: you are a T-shaped leader, with deep expertise in financial planning and analytical excellence and broad oversight across the full CFO domain.

• Proven track record in funding and capital markets including bonds, equity, project finance, or institutional investment with the ability to tell a compelling and credible financial story to investors.

• Track record in leading treasury management specifically cash management, (bank) guarantee management, subsidiary capitalisation, FX management, and bank loan management.

• Experience in building or professionalising a finance function, including systems, processes, and team capability including leveraging AI and digital technologies company-wide.

• Ability to articulate a long-term financial vision and translate it into clear near-term actions.

• Bring a healthy appetite for risk combined with rigorous financial discipline: knowing when to accelerate and when to challenge.
