Senior Financial Accountant

Our goal is a European network of 1,000 fast charging stations in prime locations where electric drivers can charge their vehicles with energy from the sun and wind. As Senior Financial Accountant your main responsibility is to take ownership of the full financial administration of the Belgium entity. Additionally, you will be supporting the audit and improvement projects. The role will be based in our Ghent office, where you will be part of a fun and diverse team with over 35 nationalities!

Your role

• Daily accounting for Fastned Belgium including reviewing incoming invoices, and preparation of payment runs and journal postings;
• Performing month-end close activities and monitoring of trial balance data;
• Assisting with the preparation of group and subsidiary statutory accounts, including files and information for our auditors;
• Preparing monthly indirect tax filings and subsidy claims;
• Debtor and creditor management and follow-up of overdue items;
• Managing local statutory audits and reviewing local annual financial statements;
• Contributing to improving financial procedures and work practices in a rapidly growing business environment.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is an initiator and takes ownership of the tasks assigned. A keen eye for detail and critical thinking are of great help in keeping our financial records up to date-and accurate.

Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

• 3-8 years relevant experience in a financial accountant or similar role;
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related area;
• Strong knowledge of Belgium tax compliance requirements;
• Fluency in Dutch and English. Basic understanding of French; 
• Hands-on, outgoing and proactive mentality, ability to work independently;
• Proven experience working with accounting systems;
• You have a genuine interest in the energy transition and Fastned’s mission.
