About Product & Engineering
We contribute to our mission by making EV charging joyful—simple, reliable, and as seamless as charging your phone. We build and operate a frictionless digital and physical charging experience that drivers trust, delivered through a scalable, data-driven, and reliable technology platform. Our goal: provide the most reliable and highest-rated fast-charging customer experience, resulting in market leadership and strong financial returns.
The role
We are looking for a Product Manager to lead our Payments team, a key part of our strategy to drive effortless payment and reliable revenue collection.
As Product Manager for the Payments team at Fastned, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how our customers pay and how we collect and report revenue for all our payment touchpoints. You will be at the heart of our mission to make charging as easy as possible, ensuring every transaction—whether in-app or on a payment terminal—is seamless, secure, and compliant.
You will lead the product vision and strategy for payments. Your work will directly impact Fastned’s growth and customer satisfaction, as well as our ability to scale across multiple markets. You will also be responsible for ensuring our payment solutions comply with local regulations, including fiscalization and financial reporting requirements, in the context of the rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
You’ll work closely with the Driver product team (responsible for the in-app experience), New Business product team (commercial propositions), Charging product team (industry protocols), Customer Operations (customer service), Tech Ops (fraud prevention & payment terminals), Finance (revenue reporting, reconciliation & compliance), Country managers across Fastned’s network within Europe and external payment solution providers.
What you’ll do
Own the end-to-end payment experience: Define and execute the product roadmap for all payment touchpoints, including payment terminals and in-app solutions, ensuring a frictionless and reliable customer journey.
Drive revenue collection and reporting: Develop systems and processes for accurate and timely revenue collection, reporting, and financial reconciliation. Identify opportunities to automate and optimize these processes, reducing manual intervention and errors.
Fraud prevention: Implement strategies and tools to detect, prevent, and respond to fraudulent activities across all payment channels, ensuring the security and integrity of our payment systems.
Ensure regulatory compliance: Monitor and implement local regulatory requirements across all markets, working closely with Finance, Legal and Country teams to ensure our payment solutions meet or exceed standards such as B2C fiscalization, PSD2, and PCI DSS.
Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with Driver, New Business, Charging, Customer Operations, Tech Operations, Finance, Country teams & external providers to align on robust, scalable, and secure payment solutions.
Performance ownership: Own and improve key metrics such as payment & dunning success rate (industry-leading). Use data-driven insights to monitor payment performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement in payment flows and financial processes.
User-centric product development: Proactively develop a deep understanding of user needs and pain points through continuous discovery, experimentation and delivery, ensuring user insights drive product decisions and processes.
Independent research & experimentation: in collaboration with our UX and Engineering team, design and run research studies and experiments (quantitative and qualitative) to inform product direction and validate hypotheses, iterating quickly based on findings.
Leverage AI in your craft: Rapidly experiment with and apply AI tools to solve business problems, automate processes, and uncover new opportunities. For example, you might use AI to automate reporting, analyze datasets, or prototype new features. You bring hands-on experience beyond basic prompting, eager to push boundaries and help the team learn from your expertise.
Champion Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies in payments, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance our offerings and maintain our competitive edge.
