Job description
Join a fast-growing, listed B-Corp with a purpose! Fastned owns and operates a network of over 350 fast-charging stations across Europe. Our goal is to establish a European network of 1,000 fast-charging stations in prime locations, where all electric vehicles can charge using renewable energy from the sun and wind. Fastned has over 350 employees spread across 10 locations, with our HQ in Amsterdam. At Fastned, you will actively contribute to accelerating the transition to electric mobility. We're looking for a passionate PR & Communications Manager for Italy & Spain, working from our office in Milan, to drive our mission forward by building brand awareness, strengthening our reputation, and engaging audiences in the Italien and Spanish market.
Your Role
As PR Manager for Spain & Italy you will drive all local public relations and communications initiatives. Your role is crucial for building Fastned’s brand awareness, managing external communications, and fostering strong relationships with media, influencers, and stakeholders in both markets. You will work closely with the local teams, the central PR team in Amsterdam, and external agencies to ensure consistent messaging and impactful campaigns. It’s a role with a strong combination of strategic thinking and execution, building a PR & Communications Strategy from the ground.
Key Responsibilities:
PR Strategy & Execution
Develop and implement a strategic PR plan for Spain & Italy, aligned with Fastned’s mission and business goals.
Identify PR opportunities and generate positive media coverage
Craft compelling narratives about Fastned’s value proposition and commitment to sustainable mobility to help influence the narrative and drive thought leadership
Media Relations
Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, bloggers, and influencers
Act as the primary spokesperson for media inquiries; manage press releases, statements, and interviews.
Monitor media coverage and proactively manage Fastned’s reputation
Content Creation & Storytelling
Create and oversee content such as press releases, blog posts, newsletters, social media updates, and case studies.
Build the profiles of the local leaders online and in the media
Project Management & Reporting & stakeholder management.
Manage PR campaigns from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with objectives
Measure and report on PR activities and KPIs
Conduct regular assessments of the local market and competitor landscape
Work hand in hand with Public Affairs, Network development and PR central teams
Agency Management
Manage relationships with local PR agencies, ensuring alignment with Fastned’s strategy.
Leverage agencies’ local expertise for media access while retaining strategic ownership in-house.
Travel & Events
Flexibility to travel between Spain and Italy (at least once per month) to ensure local presence and engagement.
Plan and execute PR events in both countries (e.g., station openings, press conferences, stakeholder events)

You excel working in a very mission-driven, fast-paced environment, and you keep the focus on results. Additionally, you tick the following boxes:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in PR and communications, ideally in renewable energy, tech, or transportation sectors.
Proven media relations experience and proactive story pitching.
Strong network of media contacts in Spain and/or Italy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish, Italian, and English. Near Native in Spanish and Italian, English professional level.
Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to campaign planning.
Exceptional storytelling skills; ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
Familiarity with PR tools, media monitoring, social media, and analytics platforms.
Passion for sustainable energy and the EV landscape.
Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and results-driven mindset.
Willingness to travel regularly between Spain and Italy.
