(Junior) Project Engineer Engineering & Materials (Gent based)

Your role

As Project Manager Materials & Engineering, you’ll join an innovative international team, offering an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering and project management. You will shape critical technical aspects of construction projects in various countries, drive standardisation, and contribute to the efficiency of our rollout process. This position is ideal if you’re passionate about technical problem-solving, providing autonomy and growth potential within a forward-thinking organisation.

You will be expected to:

• Develop and manage technical specifications for key structural components, such as the canopy structure.
• Coordinate the sourcing and procurement of materials used across multiple countries.
• Address and resolve technical inquiries and challenges that arise from various construction sites.
• Collaborate closely with local rollout teams to ensure the technical quality and compliance of construction projects.
• Engage with external experts to enhance our capabilities and support innovative solutions.

This role is positioned within the Materials & Engineering team (which is a pillar within the Construction Management team), reporting directly to the Construction Lead Materials & Engineering. Approximately 10-20% travel is expected, allowing you to work hands-on with local teams and suppliers to ensure high standards and efficient project execution. Is electric mobility new to you? No problem! As part of your onboarding, you will take part in a series of exciting workshops where you will learn everything you need to know about electric mobility and fast-charging infrastructure.

What you should bring along

• A completed engineering or technical degree or a comparable qualification (for example, civil or mechanical engineering);
• Initial work experience is desired, preferably in an engineering firm;
• Excellent organizational skills and a high level of initiative;
• Systematic and solution-oriented thinking, a pronounced curiosity and an eye for detail;
• Very good written and spoken English and Dutch skills. If you speak French or German thats a plus
