Your role

As Manager Accounting your main responsibility is to take full ownership of the financial administration of all our entities in Europe. You will be driving the monthly closing (including tax filings) while collaborating closely together with the financial accountants, the financial controllers, Manager AP and the Head of Financial Control. You will be responsible for the more complex reconciliations, reviews and overall quality of figures. Additionally, you will be responsible for a team of 9 FTE. Overall responsibilities will include: 

• Coaching, training and overseeing the full Accounting team;

• Supporting and overseeing a timely and accurate month closing for all our entities in close alignment with the financial accountants;

• Driving and improving the overall quality of the figures with the help of additional reconciliations, reports and tools (especially for more complex topics like leases); 

• Safeguarding IFRS accounting policies and consistent administrations across the different entities and countries;

• Supporting and overseeing further compliance in tax and accounting (local GAAP);

• Supporting the preparation of the consolidated IFRS accounts and external audit; 

• Supporting in company wide projects representing Finance;

• Contributing to improving general financial procedures and work practices in a rapidly growing business environment.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is an initiator and takes ownership on tasks assigned. A keen eye for details and critical thinking are of great help in keeping our financial records up to date and accurate.

Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

• 8+ years relevant experience in accounting or similar;

• Master degree in Accounting, Finance or related area;

• An empathetic leader who fosters trust and provide guidance to a team of 9 financial accountants;

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills;

• Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus;

• Hands on, outgoing and proactive mentality, ability to work independently;

• Proven experience working with accounting systems (we use Oracle Netsuite);

• You have a genuine interest in the energy transition and Fastned’s mission.

• Final interview with two key team members from the wider Finance team;
