Internship Data Science

Your role

We are looking for a Data Science Intern based in Amsterdam. You will be part of our central Data & Insights team and report to a Senior Data Scientist. As our intern, you will support the development of novel machine learning models that will supercharge both customer facing and internal facing products.

Your overall responsibilities include

• Directly contributing, with the support of data scientists and engineers, to the development of machine learning models end-to-end, from data discovery & data cleaning to model development and model production

• Preparing presentations to communicate learnings with stakeholders and team members with varying degrees of understanding of data science & machine learning

Who we are looking for

You love digging through data to create valuable machine learning models. You like learning on the go and you are not afraid to fail. You have an entrepreneurial mindset and like to take initiative as well as think outside the box. You enjoy working in small teams and in a hybrid working environment.

Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree in Data Science, Machine Learning or similar in the Netherlands

• Proven experience with forecasting and supervised machine learning models

• Python proficiency

• Familiarity (or willingness to work) with SQL

• Interest in having an impact with data in the business world

Internship conditions

• Available starting between August 15th and October 1st, 2025

• Duration: 6 months full-time

• Minimum 2 days/week at the office, located right by the Amstel station in Amsterdam

• Mandatory quarterly visits to our office in Zurich, Switzerland to sit together with Senior Data Scientist (all paid by Fastned of course)
