We are looking for a Field Engineer to join our Field Operations team in the UK. The Field Operations team is responsible for continuously maintaining our operational charging stations in a perfect state to offer a reliable, safe and customer-friendly charging experience to electric drivers.

Your role

As a Field Engineer you will play a vital role in our company's success. You will ensure that our charging electrical infrastructure is properly maintained throughout the whole region. This includes our fantastic DC fast chargers, but also other equipment and systems present at our stations (cameras, solar systems, lighting, transformers, civil infrastructure etc). Your work will have a direct impact on the performance of our network, contributing to the reliability of the Fastned charging experience.

Job requirements

Your overall responsibilities include:

  • Driving to stations to perform on-site interventions and diligently repair defective equipment (corrective maintenance)
  • Visiting our stations for site inspection on regular basis (preventive maintenance)
  • Assessing current state of station infrastructure and identifying and reporting any issue on site
  • Documenting all interventions thoroughly in our different systems
  • Taking part in stations expansion projects (adding chargers to an existing station) on an ad-hoc basis
  • Liaising with the central and technical support teams to provide field insights for specific projects or process optimization

In that role you’ll report to a local Field Operations manager based in UK and work closely with the central Field Maintenance team based in Amsterdam.

Who are we looking for?

You have a technical background in electrical works as proven by electrical qualifications, and you are familiar with current rules and regulations in that domain. You are proactive, independent and solution-oriented, and your profile matches the following requirements:

  • You have a valid driver’s license, are ready to drive around to our stations and agree to be away from home to complete a route if necessary
  • You are certified to work on electrical installations or willing to get certified
  • You have previous experience maintaining DC Chargers
  • You are flexible in your working hours and willing to work outside office hours if need be (time being compensated)
  • You have good communication skills (verbal and in written) in English
  • You are able to travel abroad for onboarding, training or team gatherings
