Job description

Join a fast-growing B Corp where your work directly contributes to combating climate change. At Fastned, you’ll help accelerate the transition to electric mobility. We’re over 400 colleagues (from 45+ nationalities) across nine countries, working together to make it easy for electric drivers to charge up with 100% renewable energy from the sun and wind – fast and hassle-free. We were recently voted the best charging network in the UK, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands – a testament to our mission to offer the best, most welcoming charging experience out there! As our Chief of Staff in Amsterdam, you’ll support the impact of our passionate board dedicated to making a difference for our planet. If you’re ready to drive change in the energy transition, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact!

Your role

As our Chief of Staff you keep a pulse on the business and help connect the dots. You are a consultant and doer, who will handle portions of the day-to-day tasks that rest with our board and you serve as the right-hand to the CEO. In this role, you will report to the Director of Strategy, actively driving important projects and enable effective communication between all stakeholders, such as the Supervisory Board, the Board of Directors and management.

This unique role is the perfect career step if you bring along first experience as a strategy consultant or experience in a similar inhouse role.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Handle day-to-day tasks of our CEO, join visits across our different offices and support on e.g. slides and meeting preparation, following up on agreed actions.

  • Enable effective communication between stakeholders, for example by preparing meetings, presentation materials and other documentation (including supervisory board meetings). Further, you must be an effective relationship manager and well connected with those reporting to the CEO and others across the organisation. Sometimes you will act as a gatekeeper, ensuring our CEOs involvement in a project or decision-making process at the right moment.

  • Support decision making on topics at the intersection of strategy and organisation structure. You make sure that decisions are being executed by channeling, analysing and assimilating input from different stakeholders into effective plans.

  • Drive and oversee large, often cross-functional company wide projects.

This diverse and fast-paced job requires excellent communication, outstanding analytical skills, a tolerance for ambiguity, high levels of organisation, and a can-do attitude, in which tasks both big and small are taken on with enthusiasm.

Who we are looking for

You bring along curiosity and brains to quickly gain a deep understanding of the business and swiftly integrate yourself in our organisation. Playing an advisory role, you know how to define next steps based on the input from stakeholders and put them into action, combining this with diplomacy to communicate in an effective manner. Furthermore, you have the ability to think on your own feet - you feel comfortable taking ownership.

In order to be effective in this high impact role, you also tick the following boxes:

  • 2-5 years of previous experience in strategy consulting or a similar role with ability to adapt quickly to a scale-up, fast-paced business environment;

  • Masters degree in business (e.g., MBA) or from a technical university;

  • Outstanding organisational skills and a proven track-record of successful project management;

  • Excellent document drafting skills and advanced knowledge of PowerPoint/Keynote/Google Slides and Microsoft Excel/Numbers/Google Sheet;

  • Excited to travel to our different offices across Europe on a regular basis;

  • Excellent communication skills and (near-)native level in both Dutch and English;

  • You are highly motivated by accelerating the energy transition.
