Senior Manager Charging Technology

We are looking for an experienced Charging Technology Manager to lead our efforts in identifying, evaluating, and implementing cutting-edge DC charging technologies. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Fastned remains ahead in the fast-charging industry, providing exceptional service and innovation.

Your overall responsibilities include

• Identify and evaluate charging technologies: Proactively scan the DC charging and adjacent technologies markets to identify potential manufacturers and suppliers. Convert promising leads into pilots with Fastned.
• Internal coordination and requirement specification: Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and charging manufacturers. Clearly communicate Fastned's specific requirements for DC chargers to ensure they meet our high standards.
• Influence Next-Generation chargers: Work closely with manufacturers to steer the technology, design and functionality of the next generation of chargers, ensuring they are better tailored to Fastned's needs.
• Technical support and knowledge sharing: Provide technical assistance to internal teams (Public Affairs, Construction Management, Operations,...). More broadly, you will be charged with elevating technical knowledge about charging technology within the organization.
• Representative in industry associations: Represent Fastned in technical steering groups like CharIN & the likes and proactively bring forward proposals that help Fastned fulfill its mission.
• Collaboration on energy solutions: Tandem with Grid Capacity & Energy Storage Manager and the Network Operations team on integrating battery technology and ensuring compatibility with our charging network topology.

The ideal candidate has a passion for technology and knows how to align external parties and internal stakeholders to pilot, optimize and successfully embed new technologies:

• Technical acumen: Preferred background in electrical engineering or equivalent. In-depth knowledge of DC charging (liquid cooled cables, SiC- and IGBT power stacks, ISO15118, MID metering regulations, Eichrecht,..) and adjacent technologies (load balancing, energy management systems,..)
• Market navigator: Ability to scan the market landscape and identify and initiate potential partnerships and technologies. Bonus points if you possess a good network in the industry.
• Technical Requirements: Strong ability to draft comprehensive technical requirements and specifications.
• Influential Communicator: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey requirements and influence external partners.
• Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Analytical Skills: Experience in technical analysis and problem-solving.
• Passion for EV Charging: A deep interest in the EV charging industry and Fastned’s mission.
• Experience: Relevant background in a similar role, ideally within the EV charging sector.
• Languages: Fluency in English is essential. Additional European languages (e.g. German) are a plus.
