We currently have three people working at our Austrian location, so you have the opportunity to help build Fastned Austria from the ground up.

Your role

As our first architect in Austria, you will contribute to the success of the company with your creative and spatial thinking, providing station designs that score the highest in customer experience and that integrate our modular Fastned stations into service areas along the highways. We are entrepreneurs at heart and building a more sustainable future is in our DNA.

Your role as an Architect is crucial to our multidisciplinary team. In your day-to-day job, you will spend most of your time with our local Vienna team. Besides that, you will also be connected to our team of more than 40 architects located in other countries.

Key Responsibilities

• Create design concepts based on Fastned's modular design standards and carry out your own projects through the phases 1-5. If you are familiar with all phases, you will have a clear advantage and will be able to support the future construction team.

• Make site visits for initial site assessments. Check the suitability of levels, access, procure survey information as necessary, and other key criteria.

• Create creative design solutions for challenging locations – for an optimal charging experience for our customers.

• Create complete plans  for building permit applications 

• You support the future construction team with technical drawing packages for tender and construction.

• Collaborate and coordinate with the in-house expansion and construction teams to provide high-quality design documentation in the agreed timescale.

• Collaborating and communicating with local authorities and external stakeholders.

Who we are looking for

The most important thing for us is that you are passionate about the energy transition and want to be part of a company that is really making a difference. You are a genuine team player, enjoy working independently, are not afraid of making mistakes, and are always curious and willing to learn. You already have experience in the field of public space design, infrastructure or location development, or would like to develop your skills in these areas.

• You have a strong experience as an architect (5y+)

• You can confidently present projects with local authorities and you have experience dealing with challenging permit processes within Austria.

• You speak proficient German and fluent English.

• You are convinced of the importance of branding & visual identity and you can apply traffic safety regulations to your own design proposals.

• Solid working experience with Revit. Familiarity with Enscape is a plus.

• You can see yourself as an ambassador of Fastned and electric mobility both internally and externally, helping stakeholders understand and embrace our concept.

• 'Think like a founder' is a statement you recognize yourself in, also you like to  take initiative and work independently with confidence.
