Accounts Payable Lead

Your role

As Accounts Payable Lead your main responsibility is to safeguard timely, accurate and complete processing of all incoming invoices. You will be assisting in executing the monthly closing and collaborating closely together with the financial accountants and the manager Accounting & Reporting. You will be responsible for a team of 6 FTE. Additionally, you will be supporting the audit and drive improvement projects.

• Support and oversee the timely and accurate processing of invoices for all our entities in close alignment with the financial accountants;
• Support and manage the expense claim reporting process including the support of our internal travel platform;
• Collaborate closely with purchasing departments to safeguard the purchase order process and other drivers for three-way matching;
• Clean, structure and manage the vendor master data;
• Ensure compliance with local tax and accounting regulations concerning invoicing;
• Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledgers to the general ledger;
• Support interim, annual and tax audits;
• Identify opportunities for projects and process improvements;
• Help generate regular reports on accounts payable metrics, including ageing analysis;
• Oversee the responsibilities covered by the AP accountants, for example, bank reconciliation and vendor management;
• Coach and train the full Accounts Payable team.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is an initiator and takes ownership on tasks assigned. A keen eye for details and critical thinking are of great help in keeping our financial records up to date and accurate.

Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

• 5+ years relevant experience in accounts payable, accounting or similar;
• Bachelor degree in Finance or related area;
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
• Fluency in English;
• Hands on, outgoing and proactive mentality, ability to work independently;
• Proven experience working with accounting systems;
• You have a genuine interest in the energy transition and Fastned’s mission.
